Tuning in to Another Agent’s Action Capabilities
نویسندگان
چکیده
Successful social coordination usually requires one person to be able to judge the limits and abilities of another person. Two experiments investigating perception of the maximum height to which an actor could jump and reach were conducted. In both experiments those estimates were compared to estimates of the perceiver’s own maximum jump-with-reach height. Results of Experiment 1 showed that perceptions for the self improved over time, in the absence of explicit feedback, but perceptions for the other actor remained constant. Experiment 2 demonstrated that providing perceivers with perceptual information about the other actor’s action capabilities enabled perceivers to recalibrate their perceptual reports for the other actor’s maximum jump-withreach height.

Some Models for Autonomous Agents' Action Selection in Complex Partially Observable Environments
We study the resource-bounded autonomous agents acting in complex multi-agent and multi-task environments. In particular, we investigate various models of the agent action selection in such environments. Designing such autonomous decision making agents for non-episodic and partially observable dynamic environments is particularly challenging, due to a high-level demand such environments pose in...
متن کاملApplication to Adaptive Control to Synchronous Machine Excitation
Self-tuning adaptive control technique has the advantage of being able to track the system operating conditions so that satisfactory control action can always be produced. Self-tuning algorithms can be implemented easily. Because the power systems are usually time varying non-linear systems and their parameters vary, adaptive controllers are very suitable for power systems. Characteristics of a...
متن کاملA Q-learning Based Continuous Tuning of Fuzzy Wall Tracking
A simple easy to implement algorithm is proposed to address wall tracking task of an autonomous robot. The robot should navigate in unknown environments, find the nearest wall, and track it solely based on locally sensed data. The proposed method benefits from coupling fuzzy logic and Q-learning to meet requirements of autonomous navigations. Fuzzy if-then rules provide a reliable decision maki...
متن کاملAdaptive Interactions in Societies of Agents
In a society of agents the learning processes of an individual agent can become critically dependent on knowledge processes in the society as a whole. It is useful to adopt a collective stance that views the overall society as a larger adaptive agent that is recursively divided into adaptive sub-agents. The resources for an agent include other agents, and some of an agent’s processes will be de...
متن کاملOrganizing an Agent’s Memory
The architecture of a memory for autonomous agents is presented. It is based on an interconnected network of data containers. The memory design principles follow the requirements of supporting action selection mechanisms, planning, and learning capabilities. Different types of data are organized in four segments.
